EILEEN TICHAUER ARTIST STATEMENT/BIO/CV
Influenced by the vibrant spirit of NYC and Toronto the cities that shaped me, my paintings reflect the rhythm, richness and energy of urban life.
My compositions are an intricate tapestry of geometric abstract patterns that are both intuitive and deliberate. The interplay of color and shape create a sense of movement and balance and endless possibility that intensify and elevate the visual narrative.
At its core my art reflects the merging of my internal world and how I experience and navigate my external surroundings.
I have a BA in Fine Art’s from LIU, CW Post, I studied art in University primarily as a printmaker. I was in search of a new way to express my creativity that would allow me to have more flexibility. Working with acrylic paint on canvas offered me this freedom as well as an opportunity to work on a larger scale.
